As before these are thrown in pairs, then dissected and rejoined with white porcelain to create the seam running through them. After I have finished making the vessel I carefully re-throw the rim gradually making it finer until it begins to tear, each piece has it's own unique quality.

After the final firing the piece is sealed with a ceramic liquid quartz, this acts like a glaze without altering the look or feel of the natural material. the vessel is then waxed and polished leaving a beautiful natural sheen.
