This series is always thrown in pairs, the rims are then dissected and switched ie the black rim onto the white bowl & the white rim onto the black bowl, the rims are then rejoined creating a calm graphic presence. After the final firing the piece is sealed and polished creating subtle natural sheen. After I have finished making the bowl I carefully re-throw the rim gradually making it finer until it begins to tear, each piece has it's own unique quality.

After the final firing the piece is sealed with a ceramic liquid quartz, this acts like a glaze without altering the look or feel of the natural material. the vessel is then waxed and polished leaving a beautiful natural sheen.
