MONOLITH

Vessels inspired by the majestic stone monoliths that scatter our countryside, weathered over time by the elements.

The black vessels are made from black vulcan clay. The glaze reacts like volcanic rock when applied and fired which is evident on the interior. On the exterior a very fine layer of glaze is applied, which I then sand and polish after the final firing giving the impression that the vessels been weathered over time whilst leaving a refined finish.

In contrast the grey vessels made from grey anthracite clay are unglazed on the exterior and highly polished leaving a beautiful subtle sheen that resembles marble, whilst leaving the natural elements and markings of the clay to be the focus of the vessel.
